Retailers call for GST on online sales

Again, retailers are asking for GST to be charged on overseas purchases.  Currently, Australians are able to purchase goods online from international sellers without incurring GST, and with the high value of the dollar, are able to purchase goods cheaper than in Australia.  It is estimated to be costing the Government GST revenue of approximately $2.45 billion in revenue over 3 years.
